Stadsmuseum Doetinchem

Travel through time in the City museum. You will find art, culture and a beautiful collection about Doetinchem and the development of the city.

In the heart of Doetinchem, you will find the Doetinchem City Museum. The City Museum is housed in the Old Post Office, a building by architect Joseph Crouwel from 1920 and built in the style of the School of Amsterdam. The City Museum has old maps, paintings, drawings and a classroom from the 30’s. Two models show the Doetinchem of 1830 and 1940. Touchscreens and a listening chair with stories of experiences take you back to the lives of inhabitants of those times. In the ‘Children’s Museum’, children can show their own collections. Temporary exhibitions with various themes make the experience complete.
