A city farm in Zutphen This is where farmer and painter Herman Kip lived until his death in 2006. The farm was donated to the municipality of Zutphen and has now been opened as a museum by volunteers.

Herman Kip, a farmer by trade, lived as a hermit in a city farm without amenities, like his parents lived there in the 19th century. He was also a painter. His works are mainly depicted on plates, vases, milk jugs, etc. He also painted on tables, chairs and cupboards. He often used a piece of wood or a sheet of paper for his paintings.

Connoisseurs classify his paintings under the naive, primitive painting. He painted a wide range of themes. Many of his works feature flowers and animals, as well as religious scenes and village views.
